HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD SUCCEED IN SUMMER SCHOOL

Our first week of summer school was a complete success.  Despite the record high, sweltering heat and initial adjustments we made it through without incident.  Summer school started this Tuesday, July 6th, hours are 8:30am to 12:30pm and the last day of class is on Thursday, August 5th.  However, important testing dates will take place on Monday, August 9th for Math and Tuesday, August 10th for Reading.  Please make sure that your child reports to school on these important testing dates.

If you need additional information and/or assistance, please contact the Parent Coordinator, Ivie Bien-Aime at (718) 241-4800 ext. 1400 and/or via cell (347) 563-4672.  Our 1st Summer School Parent Workshop, "How to Help Your Child Succeed in School",  will take place on Thursday, July 15th at 10:00am to 11:30am and also in the evening from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

PTA MEETING & CAREER DAYS PHOTOS

The PTA Meeting is Thursday, May 27th @ 7:00pm.  Regrettably, Saturday’s PTA Meeting was rendered null and void.  In order to do business as a Parent Teacher’s Association at IS 68, a quorum of nine (9) members is absolutely necessary.  On Saturday we only had six (6) members.  We will be calling Parents to encourage attendance of this meeting, please join us.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Bildersee is celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week from Monday, May 3, 2010 to Friday, May 7, 2010.   Parents, students & friends can share their gratitude and appreciation to all teachers by remembering to say a simple THANK YOU.   Teachers are valued members of our society who sometimes work tirelessly to provide us with the knowledge we need to make "it" in the world.   Teaching is not a ordinary job, it is a "calling" to help shape the minds & hearts of civilization.  Teaching is not merely a profession, it is a path that only a courageous, dedicated and loyal few have taken.  At Bildersee we are proud of our teachers and would like to offer many thanks for all of their hard work.
